Approach and Philosophy
I believe in our innate wisdom, not just on an intellectual level, but on every level. That said, life offers a wide range of experiences that can sometimes take us away from, or veil, this wellspring of inner guidance, often making it difficult to access, much less put into real action.
I consider myself to be a "general practitioner" offering down to earth, practical ways to help you access that inner wisdom and support you in creating positive change in your life. By deeply tracking you and your world, we are able to pull together themes and undercurrents, getting to the heart of the matter. I believe in working from the inside out and taking all aspects of you into consideration. By using insight and solid intuition to elicit what is trying to make itself known, change can occur.
My goal is to help you break out of old unuseful patterns, gain freedom from the stuck places in your life, cultivate positive self rapport, have more authentic connection to yourself and others, and create a sense of ease around navigating your life.
There are a few theoretical approaches that inform my work with clients. They include: Attachment-Based, Psychodynamic, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and a focus on Complex Post Traumatic Stress Disorder, as it relates to traumatic experiences within ones family of origin, such as emotional or physical abuse, abandonment or neglect. In addition, I am familiar with meditation and mindfulness practices.
